Discovery series

This series presents newly discovered and previously unpublished works by master composers. Apart from being a valuable addition to the available performance repertoire, these first editions will be useful to musicologists, teachers and students.

Great care has been taken in the preparation of these editions for publication. They appear in the form of Urtext editions (i.e. original text) and as Critical Editions (with a critical report).

This series opened with the publication of César Cui’s Opp. 104–106. César Cui was a member of the Mighty Handful. These—the last works of Cui—have long been considered lost, and are listed thus in the Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. They were discovered in 2012 in the National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg.
